Meteor Garden, also known as Hana Yori Dango

When it started ?...

         It all started with a Manga Series "Hana Yori Dango" and got a movie adaptation on year 1995. The movie did not reach out the audience's expectation but it is understandable because it was a movie and the manga series is to long for a movie.

Phenomenon Adaptation of Meteor Garden (2001)

       Starring with the Taiwanese stars Barbie Shu, Jerry Yan, Vic Chou, Vanness Wu and Ken Chu. This might not be the first adaptation but it was really an awesome drama with the good actors and actresses. They played there role pretty well. The impact of this TV series really captures the youth including the adults. This started the growth of Asian TV Series Nationwide including the US Countries.

Original Story of Hana Yori Dango (Japan, 2005)

        
         Among all the adaptation, this is the only one who follows the original storyline of Hana Yori Dango. The character preference also have the same as it was in the Manga Series. Compared to the Movie version of Japan, this one got the attention of all the manga lovers because of the Character's acting. Since the story was originally from Japan, they portray every character very well. This was broadcast on TBS in 2005  starring Mao Inoue, Jun Matsumoto, Shun Oguri, Shota Matsuda, and Tsuyoshi Abe.

Hana Yori Dango Returns (Japan, 2007)

        The sequel of the first Hana Yori Dango with the Original cast. This is just a continuation of the first Hana Yori Dango series. This was not really in the manga but the story still focus on Mao Inoue and Jun Matsumoto. BTS decided to have a sequel of the drama because of how the fan embrace the story and the character. They also saw something charismatic between the two character. There are even rumors that they are dating in real life.

Boys Over Flowers (Korea, 2009)

       After with the successfully series of Meteor Garden and Hana Yori Dango. Another Country adopted the series with the title of Boys Over Flowers. New faces of actors and actress which also got the attention of the youth. 

     The beautiful background music, amazing places and handsome F4 guys who captured the attention of most girls. This drama also have almost the same storyline with Meteor Garden. Most of the youth said that the drama surpassed the popularity of the previous version of Hana Yori Dango and Meteor Garden. They also created a different simple title which is so refreshing to hear.

Meteor Garden (2018) REMAKE! (download)

    Finally! After 16 years, Taiwanese adaptation announce a new remake of Meteor Garden with the same producers. Fresh faces has been announced to play the leads of the remake. Actress Shen Yue will take the lead as "Shancai", Actor Dylan Wang as "Daoming Si", Actor Darren Chen as "Huazelei", Actor Connor Leong as "Meizuo" and Actor Caesar Wu as "Ximen".
  

  

Barbie Hsu also shared his support with the current lead by posting on her Instagram account qouted as "Goodbye old!! Hello new! "

However, the instagram post was removed without knowing the reason. This might be for good because some of the viewers are comparing both actress.

Shen Yue was overwhelm with the support and the guide of all the viewers and actors she worked with. 
      
This is another Phenomenon that happened after 16 years!


Lets hope there will be another version of Meteor Garden or Hana Yori Dango in the near future.
